Heart Hugs Block Bank

What exactly IS a Hearts Hug Bank? Well, we all make 6 1/2 in WOW (white on white) background heart blocks. These can be appliqued any way you can, machine, hand, needle turn, pieced, paper-pieced, you name it. We like you to sign your name and maybe put your town/state on them and if you like a little sentiment wont hurt either.

We send them to our "banker" Janetta in Texas. She carefully guards them until one of our members needs a collective BIG HUG from all of us. Then the bees get to work and assemble a quilt for the "hug-ee". Its all a HUSH HUSH mission, we love surprises! So if you get an email saying " we are sending hugs for so and so...get busy as a bee sewing and send them to:

Janetta Rodriguez
3310 Hickory Falls Drive
Kingwood TX 77345-1117

You do NOT have to wait until we have a recipient either. If you want to just make some "generic" hearts for the bank, please send as many as you like. We almost always use up more hearts in a hugs quilt than what is contributed for an individual. Also sometimes time is of the essence, so having extras to fill in the gaps helps to speed the process along. Janetta also gratefully can use donations of White on White, cash to help with postage, batting and so on.

If you have any questions you can email Janetta at: Texanntx (at) aol (dot) com
