Wiki Help

What is a wiki for crying out loud?

I have no idea what it stands for, that is an exercise left to the student.
I know ... wiki means a type of collaborative website.(AAGardner2 September ,2007)
But this wiki is for the www.quiltingbeehive.org web site.

We have this available to all, but primarily our members, to post information that might be of interest.

What do I do with it?

Search using the search entry and button at the left of the page.

Browse starting at the Quilting Beehive Wiki Homepage page.

That's all well and good BUT you can add Your Own Content!

Here's the simple way:

Pick a page you want to link from ...

let's say you want to add to the Recipes on the site.

  • Open the Recipes page by clicking on the blue link
  • click the Edit tab at the top of the page
  • copy one of the recipe lines (they begin with the asterisk (*))
  • and insert a new line and copy in the one you copied
  • change the new line to link to your new recipe. Links are simply words surrounded by two square brackets on each end.
  • Save that modified page and here's the MAGIC! Click on the NEW link you just added. This will open a NEW page that you can use to add your recipe!

That's it in a nutshell.

There are many formatting codes you can use to "pretty up" your page. You can find them on the Help:Formatting page.
