Burlington, Vermont - June 25 through 27, 2010

LaQuinta Inn - Burlington

The 2010 Swarm will be held in Burlington, VT June 24-27, 2010. We will be staying at the LaQuinta Inn on Williston Road in South Burlington, VT, a very short drive (or shuttle ride) from Burlington International Airport (BTV). The phone number is (802) 865-3400 to make reservations. I have had them set aside 10 rooms, some double & some queen. Be sure to mention The Quilting Beehive when you call for reservations. They also have two rooms with fridge and microwave which I haven't set aside. Our rate for the double or queen (which has a coffeemaker) is $107.16 for Thursday and $125.10 for Friday & Saturday nights and includes a continental breakfast. The hotel is just across the parking lot from JoAnn Fabrics and next door to Al's French Frys. The Champlain Valley Exposition where the VT Quilt Festival is being held is a couple of miles away (maybe a 15 minute drive). Margaret & I will be getting together soon to do more planning and will send out more updates.

Vermont Quilt Festival

This year we have the Vermont Quilt Festival at the same time!

Other things

Shelburne Museum

Located in Vermont's scenic Lake Champlain valley, Shelburne Museum is one of the nation's finest, most diverse, and unconventional museums of art and Americana. Over 150,000 works are exhibited in a remarkable setting of 39 exhibition buildings, 25 of which are historic and were relocated to the Museum grounds.

Vermont Teddy Bear Factory

Looking for fun things to do in Vermont? Our factory is open year-round (7 days a week) except Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas, & New Year’s Day. It's one of the most popular Vermont activities! We recommend planning to spend about an hour and 15 minutes on-site at The Vermont Teddy Bear Factory.

Ben and Jerry's

Need's no introduction!

Thanks! This whole project is the product of the efforts of many people. My wife, Karen, got into the original group and it was her interest in continuing that tradition that gave me the energy to build this group. Others have contributed many hours of time researching and contacting places around our “Swarms.” The effort to put together a successful Swarm is considerable! And, finally, a big thanks to Kellie Gillette for the wonderful Bee icon and logo that she created!
